Best Comedy Night

Comedy Oakland, 2016-2023 winner of "Best Comedy Night" in East Bay Express Reader's Poll features funny, diverse, industry pros alongside up-and-coming comedians at various venues across Oakland. Our comedians have featured on TV, Radio, Comedy Festivals, Late Night Talk Shows, won competitions, and have performed on every habitable continent!

Unlike comedy clubs, there are no drink minimums at our shows, but food and drinks are served. There are no tolls to pay and free street parking is available around the block. A comedian owned, comedian run show, we've been featured in SF Chronicle, ABC7, KPFA 94.1FM, SF Examiner, and East Bay Express.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

YES. You can order off the menu and there is no drink minimum.

We highly recommend purchasing tickets online for a faster, easier experience on arrival at the show. The door prices are higher, and some special tables are only available online. You don't need to print tickets, just check in with an ID.

YES. We recommend 18+. If you are under 18 and accompanied by an adult who doesn’t mind it, we won’t mind it. If you are too young to sit quietly in one place for 90 minutes we’ll be happy to tie you to your chair and tape your mouth during the show.

YES. All showrooms are wheelchair accessible.

NO. Seats are assigned on arrival. For group seating, if your tickets are all under 1 name, we will reserve your seats together. If tickets are purchased separately, email us your group size and ticket buyers names, and we will reserve your seats together. Please arrive early for group seating, we cannot hold seats as the showroom starts to fill up.

Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Arrive early for best seats.

No heckling. No video recording. No flash photography. No talking / texting / socializing on your phones during the show. No Alpacas.

We will refund your tickets minus any applicable fees with no questions asked. If you are unable to attend a show and unable to initiate a refund, you can reuse your unused tickets for a future show. Email us for details.

Email info@ComedyOakland.com with an unedited 5-7 minute video clip of you doing stand-up for an audience, and info on how long and where you have been performing. If you are an out-of-town comic looking for spots while visiting Bay Area, let us know the exact dates you will be in town i.e. "January 7-14" is better than "2nd week of January". We don't do open mics. We don't do headliners. All shows are with 5-7 comics doing 5-15 minutes.

Samson's comedy is a unique blend of his Indian background, Jewish roots, and American life. His clean comedy has been described as cerebral, witty, & refreshing, and is most enjoyed by those who prefer caffeine over alcohol. He has entertained audiences across USA, Canada, and India, & he has been featured on NPR, NBC, CBS, NDTV, The Times of India, Indian Express, Ha'aretz, Asian Jewish Life, and more.

On his very first Comedy Oakland show on May 1st 2009, the headliner didn't show up! He's still managed to run shows every single week since.

Ira decided the comedy scene really needed another middle-aged Jew from New Jersey.

A 2-time finalist in the U.S. Comedy Contest, Ira has performed at The World Series of Comedy Main Event multiple times, & has performed in 25 states across the U.S. His comedy is featured on Sirius XM.

Marcus is a stand-up comedian posing as a structural engineer during business hours.

He was a semi-finalist in the Sacramento Comedy Festival and 2nd runner-up in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition. He's tall, dark, handsome, and funny as hell.

Chris is a Bay Area Comic originally from Dallas, Texas. In a world that frequently brushes past the hard conversations, Chris Beasley has emerged as the unapologetic voice we didn't know we needed.

He has been featured on the Kill Tony Podcast, the Hot Breath Podcast and has performed in the Inaugural Riot Comedy Festival, the Sac Town Comedy Festival and the World Series of Comedy.

Candy Shaw (née Churilla) is a veteran Bay Area comedian. She has appeared on Last Comic Standing and took 3rd Place in California's Funniest Female Contest.

K has performed at NBC Stand Up for Diversity, EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival), and San Francisco Sketchfest. He’s the producer of Crazy Funny Asians, Cosplay Comedy, The Khmers of Comedy, and Cardi Spelling Bee. He’s also a contributor to The Lunar Times, From the Desk of Nerd Legion, and The 1990 Institute. He is a guest lecturer on comedy at St. Mary’s College and Mills College.

David is a writer and comedian currently writing and comedianing in California's Bay Area. Preferring a gentler approach to social commentary than the foot-stomping, chest-pounding norm, his criticism is always funny and usually constructive.

David was a finalist in the Rooster T Feathers New Talent and Battle of the Bay comedy competitions, and has opened Anthony Jeselnik's 3rd Special: Thoughts & Prayers.

Wonder Dave is a comedian, writer and performer from Minneapolis, MN, living in California. Wonder Dave hosts and produces Safe Words Showcase - Queer Sex Positive Comedy, SMILF - Straight Men I’d Like to Friend, and Mental Health Comedy Hour. He is a frequent commentator for acclaimed independent wrestling show Hoodslam, has been a featured storyteller on the Risk podcast, and was a producer for the podcast Nerd Rage The Great Debates.

David is a “non-practicing Mexican” comedian who performs regularly all across the Bay Area. He hosts a hard hitting and fast paced comedy show called David D’s Comedy Dojo.
